THE OWNER - Phill Pittman

Phill Pittman is the driving artistic force behind Masterwerkes. He has over 25 years experience designing and executing architectural carvings. His primary training began by hand carving with hammer and chisel which left him with a deep and abiding interest in old woodworking tools and techniques. During the early eighties he incorporated computer aided design to his repertoire and since then has become an admitted techno addict. In the late nineteen nineties he further changed his carving business to include computer automated carving. This has allowed Phill expand his ability to produce architectural carvings while keeping the same level of craftsmanship for which his work has always been known.

ABOUT MASTERWERKES - Architectural carving without limitation

It is our goal at Masterwerkes to produce architectural carvings without limitation. Whether the client requires a period correct piece made to match or something just a bit more whimsical it is our pleasure to design and carve for you.

Since we originate our designs in a computerized 3-D environment we can produce lifelike renderings for the client's approval with the first effort. Adjustments and modifications are quick and efficient. No loss of materials, effort, time or money. Designs can include the entire room or home if desired.

Because of Phill's long history in the carving field, we have the blessing of many wonderful professional relationships to meet almost any project requirement. So if you would like electronics, stereo components or rare finishes or materials included in your commission please do not be afraid to ask. Things that seem very exotic are everyday efforts for Masterwerkes.

THE FACILITY

Our facility is especially designed for the rigors of large scale carving. The automated carving machine we use has a four spindle system which allow us to produce commissions four components at a time. Individual components can be up the size of an adult human. Such automation allows use to concentrate on the details of a design and hand finish work so that our projects glow with unique beauty.

RECENT PROJECTS

Recent projects include carved ornament design for a 57,000 sq. ft. private residence, total owners representation on a 37,000 sq. ft. private residence and the design and execution of a large custom home theater.

This being said, we are just as excited by designing a single front door or mantel for a client as we are when doing a full room package. In fact we are planning to launch a new product line of in stock components this year so watch our site closely.
