Mantels have finally run full circle back into being a center for the family to gather round. Originally mantels served as warming and storage platforms and were usually a slab of rock. This evolved into wood and eventually ornament was added. For centuries mantels have been the major focal point of the rooms that were blessed with a fireplace. The ornament has evolved into a statement that rivals a grand entry for establishing the design tone of the home. Now with the advent of modern electronics and lifestyles, they once again are entering into the elevated status of "gathering place."

Above well-adorned mantels usually resides a companion piece called a trumeaux or "over mantel". With three decades of period architectural ornament design to draw on, we have the capacity to design a beautiful mantel and trumeaux for any design scheme that will conceal any number of unique components. All of our mantels offer flush concealed 110-volt outlets in the upper surface for seasonal decorations and concealed lighting for a dramatic affect that double as a nighttime convenience light. We can conceal low voltage spotlights to highlight artwork from below instead of overhead lighting that shines in your eyes. The advent of plasma screen video has allowed us to incorporate a full home theater that is invisible until in use. Associations with world-class home theater designers and speaker manufacturers have given us the ability to incorporate theater components into our architectural designs rather than just conceal them.
